About the Artist
My process begins with looking at the world around me. Plants and organic matter along with geometric shapes seen in man made environments inspire a cumulative process of mark making using processes including drawing, hand printing techniques, and painting. My drawings focus on meticulous detail, delicate textures and quick gesture sketches. My concerns are not with replicating what I see, but of exploring the subject matter. I work in an intuitive way, using methods including cutting, tearing, reassemblage and sometimes photoshop editing. In a way, the work becomes a kind of exploding organism of my own invention.
